Are you having a hard time gaining mass? Are you one of the guys eating like there’s no tomorrow but still no results? Going to the gym and ending up with no results? Already thinking that building muscle is like hell?

 

Then this blog is definitely for you!

 

In order to achieve mass gain, your body needs to be in anabolic state or caloric surplus. It is when your body is in a state of positive energy balance. In other words, your body has an excess supply of calories. For you to to be in this state, I laid down my top 10 tips for bulking up! Hardgainers specially newbies will surely benefit on this.


 

I’LL CALL THIS GUIDE “HOW TO HIBERNATE”

 

Because you’ll be like bears in the winter preparing for summer. So let’s get the ball rolling.

 

Tip#1: Add more plates and lift heavy!

 

We want to get big, and in order to do that, you should lift BIG. The reason here is, you must stimulate your body to use up almost all the calories you have taken and turn those into muscle. Your excess calories will just turn into fat if all of hem are not used  up.

 

Tip#2: Be friends with CARBOHYDRATES

 

The common notion on carbohydrates is totally wrong! You need these stuffs because it is the main reason why you have energy to lift those heavy weights! Consuming plenty of carbohydrates before working out will give you the energy to do intense training. It is true that carbohydrates are turned into fats but these are easily regulated when you eat up a lot before working out and eat less when you are not.

 

Tip#3: Eat, Eat and Eat!

 

Hardgainers are classified as ectomorphs, they are lean with slightly musclular body, has a high metabolism and can maintain low fat physique but does not add muscle or body weight easily. Don’t panic and don’t be afraid if you lose sight of your abs! Don’t let this thing be a hindrance in your nutrition, I mean, let’s admit it guys, we all want abs, but hey! Cutting off in eating will prevent you from your goal and will cause to slow down potential muscle growth. Remember, you are an ectomorph, and thus, shedding off those fats are easy!!  TRUST ME!

 

Tip#4: Don’t overdo CARDIO

 

You want to convert your extra calories into muscle and not burn them! I suggest you do cardio once or twice a week for 30mins only. Limit your cardio because expending to much will be a set back in achieving your goal. If you want to do more cardio, increase caloric intake to compensate the loss.

 

Tip#5: FATS to success!

 

Again, the notion on fats are wrong, not all fats are harmful, in fact eating fats can be healthy and beneficial. Moreover, fats will help you speed up the process, but!!! TAKE NOTE that you should eat fats that are healthy.

Tip#6: COMPOUND EXERCISES ARE BETTER!

 

Doing compound exercises rather than isolation exercises are better because it triggers your body in to anabolic state. Moreover, it hits and stimulates almost all of your muscle fibers. Thus, making increasing your muscle’s potential to grow more. 

 

Tip#7: Sleep like a baby!

 

Sleeping is your ultimate gym partner!. Remember that you grow while you are sleeping. That is why, babies always sleep! They know that they need to grow! In addition, when you don’t get enough sleep, your body tends to be in a catabolic state, in which your body uses up your hard earned muscle for energy. AND YOU DON’T WANT THAT! 

 

Tip#8: Rest is a MUST

 

Resting is your key to achieve your goal. In addition, resting helps your body to recover from your battle in the gym. Without enough rest, your body will not have the opportunity to grow back to become stronger.

 

Tip#9: TAKE ONLY ENOUGH PROTEIN

 

As books say, amino acids are the building of proteins and proteins are the building blocks of muscle tissues. But consuming massive amounts of protein is just a waste. Excess protein will just be used up by the body for energy, therefore, and as a rule of thumb, take only 1gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. After you have taken enough, it is better to consume more carbohydrates or dietary fats.

 

Tip#10: FOCUS and Never lose control

 

Motivate yourself by reading magazines, online articles or participate in online forums. Trust me, you’ll learn more and be more successful with this. In addition, You should not lose control of your fat gain, always remember that you have to use up all your calories to build muscle and not let the calories be stored waiting to become fats.
